SparkExam · Feature
Register every candidate and schedule every sitting in one place
Spreadsheets are where exams go wrong: a candidate in two rooms, a centre with too few seats, a list that was emailed twice. SparkExam keeps candidates, centres and sessions in one system, so the schedule everyone works from is the same one.
What it handles
- Candidates
- Import or register candidates once, with the details the exam needs, and keep one record per person across sittings.
- Centres
- Set up exam centres and rooms, and see which candidates sit where before the day.
- Sessions and shifts
- Schedule papers into sessions, split large cohorts into shifts, and keep the timetable in one view.
- Online or on paper
- Each sitting can run on screen with proctoring or on paper with AI marking of the scanned scripts.
Why it matters
Most exam incidents start before the exam: a wrong list, a missed candidate, a clash nobody saw. When registration and scheduling live in the same system as the papers and the marks, every later step reads from the same names and seats.
It also means the people running the exam can answer the simple questions quickly: who is sitting, where, and when.
For schools and for exam boards
A school can run its term exams with it; an exam board or education department can run sittings across many centres. Schools that also teach on SparK-12 can use the same exam tools inside it.
Questions
- Can we split a large cohort into several shifts?
- Yes. A paper can run in several shifts, and when it does, results can be put on a common footing across shifts (see multi-shift results).
- Do we have to run exams online?
- No. Every sitting can be online with proctoring or on paper; many organisations use both.
- Is SparkExam only for exam boards?
- No. It works for one school's exams as well as for national-scale sittings.
